Benjamin Britten ist das mit seiner faszinierenden Oper \u201eThe Turn of the Screw\u201c gelungen. Seit der Urauff\u00fchrung 1954 in Venedig fordert dieses finstere Psychodrama die Opernh\u00e4user der Welt heraus. Jetzt hat sich die Staatsoper Hannover dieser Aufgabe gestellt. Und auf breiter Front gewonnen. Die aktuellen Corona-Bedingungen forderten eine Streaming-Version. Klug die Entscheidung, mit den erfahrenen Video-Machern der Firmen BFMI und OTB zusammen zu arbeiten. Das garantiert eine \u00fcberzeugende, fernsehgerechte Umsetzung der Opernproduktion. Und die geht unter die Haut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daf\u00fcr sind zuerst die gesanglichen und darstellerischen Meisterleistungen des Gesangsensembles verantwortlich. Allen voran Sarah Brady in der Hauptrolle der immer mehr von psychotischen Obsessionen befallenen Gouvernante. Stimme und Schauspiel l\u00e4sst sie von wunderbar durchsichtigem Piano bis hin zur gro\u00dfen dramatischen Geste zur Einheit verschmelzen. Erschreckend glaubw\u00fcrdig gestaltet sie die Entwicklung der anf\u00e4nglich zugewandt agierenden Erzieherin zur immer mehr vom Wahnsinn heimgesuchten Psychopatin, inklusive sexueller Obsession. Diese Gouvernante m\u00f6chte man am Ende direkt bei der psychiatrischen Notaufnahme abliefern. Monika Walerowicz als Hausdame und Barno Ismatullaeva als herumgeisternde Miss Jessel sind ebenfalls herrlich singende Darstellerinnen auf Augenh\u00f6he. Weronika Rabek wirkt in der Rolle des M\u00e4dchens Flora zwar zu erwachsen. Gleichwohl ist es f\u00fcr die junge S\u00e4ngerin eine gut absolvierte Bew\u00e4hrungsprobe. Zu den stimmlichen Highlights werden die geisterhaften Erscheinungen des ehemaligen Hausdieners Quint, meistens aus dem Off gesungen. Daf\u00fcr engagierte Hannover den hinrei\u00dfend singenden s\u00fcdafrikanischen Tenor Sunnyboy Dladla. Schwingen in seiner Darstellung nicht Erinnerungen an Brittens Lebensgef\u00e4hrten Peter Pears mit, f\u00fcr dessen einzigartige Stimme Britten die Rolle des Mr. Quint einst entworfen hatte? Beklemmend \u00fcberzeugend auch, wie Jakob Geppert den von der Gouvernante immer mehr in die Enge getriebenen Knaben Miles gestaltet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die ganze Inszenierung spiegelt wider, dass Britten seine 16 Szenenfolgen urspr\u00fcnglich f\u00fcr eine filmische Umsetzung gedacht hatte. Das passt nat\u00fcrlich bestens zu den Anforderungen einer Streaming-Produktion. Das Kreativteam mit Immo Karaman (Regie), Thilo Ullrich (B\u00fchne), Fabian Posca (Kost\u00fcme und Bewegungscoaching), Susanne Reinhardt (Licht) und Philipp Contag-Lada (Video) stellt das Geschehen in ein komplett schwarz-wei\u00df gehaltenes Ambiente. Das minimalistisch gehaltene B\u00fchnenbild ver\u00e4ndert sich st\u00e4ndig szenengerecht per Videoprojektionen. Die so entstehenden, an Bauhaus-\u00c4sthetik erinnernden Formen geben Rahmen und Hintergrund f\u00fcr die dicht konzentrierte Personenf\u00fchrung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die kleine Besetzung des Nieders\u00e4chsischen Staatsorchesters Hannover schafft unter der sensibel mit der B\u00fchne kommunizierenden Leitung seines Chefs Stephan Zilias mit durchsichtigem Klang kammermusikalische H\u00f6hepunkte, kann dabei aber auch zu rauschend-leidenschaftlichem Gro\u00dfklang hochfahren. Am Schluss anhaltenden Beifall und viele Vorh\u00e4nge. Studiofake oder doch etwas Publikum im Saal? Egal.
