Dass die Idee wunderbar aufgeht, verbl\u00fcfft nicht nur aus musikalischer Sicht. W\u00e4hrend die Musik sogar DJ-affin zeitlos \u201eba-rockt\u201c \u2013 manchmal in halsbrecherischen Tempi der Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco unter Gianluca Capuano \u2013 verblasst durch die Erkenntnis von Bellezza, der am Ende gel\u00e4uterten Sch\u00f6nheitsk\u00f6nigin in Gestalt von M\u00e9lissa Petit, die bunte Glitzerwelt im Au\u00dfen hin zur folgerichtig leeren B\u00fchne. Wenn sie nach dem letzten Ton ihrer Schlussarie das Tor der Hinterb\u00fchne auf die noch hellen Salzburger Gassen hinaus verl\u00e4sst \u2013 barfu\u00df, im schlichten wei\u00dfen Hemdchen \u2013 ist der \u201eTriumph der Zeit und der Erkenntnis\u201c vollzogen. Ein Blick in den Spiegel der Wahrheit hat den sch\u00f6nen Schein vertrieben und Carsen l\u00e4sst gleich das ganze Publikum durch Riesenspiegelung des Zuschauerraumes daran teilhaben. Ein Bezug auf die aktuelle Gef\u00fchlslage des Auf-sich-Selbst-zur\u00fcckgeworfen-Seins? W\u00e4hrend Bellezza im schmerzhaften Prozess der Selbsterkenntnis den Verfall ihrer Sch\u00f6nheit akzeptiert und das Libretto des r\u00f6mischen Kardinals Benedetto Pamphilj arg moralisierend die Hinwendung zum \u201eg\u00f6ttlichen Willen\u201c feiert, hat Carsens dankbar unpr\u00e4tenti\u00f6se, zeitlose Darstellung der vier allegorischen Protagonisten in diesem Lehrst\u00fcck \u00fcber die Verg\u00e4nglichkeit erstaunlich entlarvende Z\u00fcge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wahrscheinlich verhalf auch die pandemisch-vorteilhafte Abwesenheit von Chor und gro\u00dfem Ensemble diesem Werk auf die Salzburger Festspielb\u00fchne. Das spannende Solistenquartett um Cecilia Bartoli l\u00e4sst volumin\u00f6se Massenszenen aber zu keiner Zeit vermissen. So singt und vor allem spielt die vielversprechende junge Sopranistin M\u00e9lissa Petit die Sch\u00f6nheit Bellezza als Siegerin des Topmodel-Castings auf dem Weg zur Erkenntnis mit gro\u00dfer Eindringlichkeit. Ab und an fehlende stimmliche Klarheit und Klang-Fokussierung sind wohl den Anstrengungen dieser Riesenpartie geschuldet, vor allem in Piano-Passagen gelingt ihr immer wieder Gro\u00dfartiges. Tenor Charles Workman gestaltet die \u201eZeit\u201c tongewaltig und auch k\u00f6rperlich auffallend pr\u00e4sent, sein Talar-Kost\u00fcm verst\u00e4rkt die einsch\u00fcchternde Wirkung. Ein geschickter Schachzug von B\u00fchnen- und Kost\u00fcmbildner Gideon Davey, dem damit ein starker Kontrast zur intellektuell-modern angelegten Figur der \u201eErkenntnis\u201c in Anzug und Designerbrille gelingt. Countertenor Lawrence Zazzo bet\u00f6rt durchgehend mit dem warmen Klang seiner volumin\u00f6sen Stimme. Dass sie es \u201eimmer noch kann\u201c (und wie!), beweist Cecilia Bartoli als Piacere auch im zehnten Jahre ihrer Festivalleitung. \u201eLascia la spina, cogli la rosa\u201c: Dass Bellezza dieser bet\u00f6renden Aufforderung widerstehen kann, ist geradezu ein Wunder.
