Im Mittelpunkt steht die \u2013 erfolglos \u2013 mit allen d\u00e4monischen Mitteln um die Liebe des Ritters Amadigi k\u00e4mpfende Zauber-Hexe Melissa. Dabei bleiben letztlich sie und der Rivale des Amadigi, Dardano, auf der Strecke; der darf nach seinem Tod wenigstens aus der H\u00f6lle noch die G\u00f6tter um Mitleid f\u00fcr die beiden Liebenden Oriana und Amadigi anflehen. Doch das erwartete gl\u00fcckliche Ende des Paares wird von Regisseur und Ausstatter Hinrich Horstkotte ironisch in Frage gestellt. Denn bei der Hochzeit verbirgt die Braut schon den Dolch hinter ihrem Gewand. Die \u00e4u\u00dfere Handlung aber ist nur ein Vorwand, die widerstreitenden Gef\u00fchle zu zeigen als quasi \u00fcberbordende Theater-Effekte ganz im Sinne der Barockzeit. Zu h\u00f6ren sind die menschlichen Gef\u00fchle bis in die sensibelsten Regungen in H\u00e4ndels Musik, konzentriert und pr\u00e4gnant betont durch Attilio Cremonesi am Cembalo und Pult der Meininger Hofkapelle. Das heutige Publikum kann das an der abwechslungsreichen Personenregie miterleben. Dass die \u00e4u\u00dfere Handlung Illusion, Spiel ist, wird schon zur Ouvert\u00fcre deutlich: Die beiden \u201eHelden\u201c sitzen hinter der eigentlichen B\u00fchne in einem Zuschauerraum, Kulissen sind von hinten zu sehen. Danach beginnt die Aktion f\u00fcr das Publikum im Opernhaus: In immer neuen Verkleidungen, mal in barocker Prunkrobe, mal teuflisch schwarz, mal geheimnisvoll dunkelrot glitzernd, mal mit riesiger Rock-Schleppe \u00fcber dem roten Kleid erscheint Melissa, mal assistiert von wei\u00dfen Gespenster-Frauen, mal mit schwarzen Punk-Furien, und auch die Auftritts-Orte wechseln oft. Da gibt es Naturbilder f\u00fcr die Nacht, Wolkenkulissen f\u00fcr den Tag, Wellen oder Flammen k\u00fcnstlich in Bewegung, ein Feuertor, durch das Amadigi als wahrer Liebender schreiten kann, unechte S\u00e4ulen, immer h\u00f6here Stufen, irritierende Spiegelw\u00e4nde, Raumfluchten, eine Drachenh\u00f6hle und zum Schluss ein Meer mit einem Papp-Schifflein obenauf, das das Paar in eine gl\u00fcckliche Zukunft f\u00fchren soll \u2013 oder nicht?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>H\u00e4ndels Musik, mit allen Facetten von Trauer, Dramatik, Empfindsamkeit, Freude, Jubel l\u00e4sst dies offen in einem lieto fine in g-Moll. Ins Reich der Toten eingegangen sind durch Selbstmord die Zauberin Melissa, von Monika Reinhard \u00e4u\u00dferst agil verk\u00f6rpert und mit viel innerer Wut, Leidenschaft, ergreifender Klage und furiosen Ausbr\u00fcchen gesungen, und im Zweikampf der kriegerische Prinz Dardano, Almerija Delic, beeindruckend durch die kraftvolle, von Elan getragene Stimme, die auch die heikelsten Koloraturen meistert.
